Most people move between several devices during the day, from a phone in the morning to a laptop at work. Wherever they are, they expect to find the same conversations waiting for them.
Starting today, Balsio is available on Mac, Windows and the web.
Together with our iOS and Android apps, this means you can use Balsio on almost any device.
How we got here
Balsio, formerly known as BirdyChat, has had a Mac app for some time. For people on other operating systems, however, the phone was the only option.
In June, we released version 1.0 of our web app. It was limited: you could read and reply to messages, but not much more. We wanted to give people something useful early and then improve it based on how they actually used it.
Your feedback was incredibly helpful. Most requests asked for two things: a more complete web app and a proper app for Windows.
What is new
The first is a completely redesigned web app. We rebuilt it using what we learned from version 1.0, and it now loads conversations about ten times faster. It also includes two features that were missing before:
Lists, for organising your conversations into groups.
Mark as Done, for marking a conversation as finished once it no longer needs your attention to achieve Inbox Zero.
The web app is a good option if you use Linux or if your work computer does not allow you to install apps.
The second is a new Windows app. A large share of people in Europe use Windows at work, and until now they had to keep Balsio open in a browser tab. They can now install it like any other desktop application and keep it running next to their other work tools.
Where to get it
You can download the Mac and Windows apps, or open Balsio in your browser, at balsio.com/download. Your account and message history are the same on every device, so you can sign in on a new computer and continue where you left off.
We are looking forward to seeing how you and your team use it.
If you have any questions, write to me directly on Balsio. I read every message.
Productively yours,
Rolands
